unsigned, but in the manner of Georg Frederich Brander, with engraved arc 0°-40°, with punched numerals, the base incorporating three angled feet, with lead plumb bob, in red stained chamois leather-lined triangular shaped fitted case, the cover heavily embossed in gilt with designs of birds, fruiting vines and foliage, and the initials I.O.V. Z (Josef Zallinger), the case -- 8¼in. (21cm.) wide
