Lot Essay


Gorham's Martelé archives as reproduced by Larry Pristo in Martelé Gorham's Nouveau Art Silver, 2002, p. 179, notes that Fruit Dish 254 was completed 19 June, 1898 and had a net factory price of $68. The dish was raised in 24 hours and chased for an additional 38 hours by unrecorded silversmiths.
