Lot Essay

Paper Knife KRA was completed on 1 May 1906. Gorham's Martele records, as reproduced by Larry Pristo, Martele 950-1000 Gorham's Nouveau Art Silver, 2002, p. 367 indicate that the knife was raised in 10 hours and chased by Job. S. (Aspin) Washington for 17 hours. It was priced at $22.50 and matched Letter Clip 8528.
