The king and queen as caparisoned elephants mounted with princes, the bishops as camel riders, the knights as horsemen, the rooks as elephants surmounted by mahouts, the pawns as turbanned rifle men, one side red versus green, fitted in a velvet covered case
The king -- 2¾in. (7cm.) high; the pawn -- 1¼in. (3.2cm.) high
