After a European silver prototype, enamelled and gilt to each side with an accolé coat-of-arms surmounted by a coronet and crest, flanked by Louis XV-style scrolls, centred by a rampant lion below the spout, minor glaze frits

Lot Essay

The arms are those of the Frisian families Altena and Doys. In 1751, Anna Catharine Doys married for the second time with Hendricus Wiardus van Altena and lived on the estate Dekema State in Friesland.
