AN ATTIC CLAM-SHAPED TERRACOTTA AMPHORISKOS
LATE 5TH-EARLY 4TH CENTURY B.C.
In the form of a closed clam shell, the body moulded with vertical grooves and ribs typical of the clam, decorated with horizontal alternating black-glazed and white bands, one handle missing
2½ in. (6.4 cm.) high
Provenance
Property from the Collection of the Princely House of Liechtenstein; acquired by Prince Johann II (1840-1929) in the late 19th/early 20th Century.
