An early 19th-Century mahogany domestic mahogany chest,
of the trunk-type variety, the lid rising to reveal a red rushed plush-lined compartment sub-divided to contain fifteen bottles all with stoppers and some with written or printed paper content labels, the drawer below secured by a brass retaining rod and containing five bottles with stoppers, an apothecary balance and weights contained on a tray, below which are two glass jars, a glass measure, a small ceramic bowl, an unusual, small ceramic measure marked Royal Worcester, England, externally and Isotone internally and a bottle of Eucalyptus Oil; the case with an inset brass carrying handle and lock and key --8¾ x 8 5/8in. (22.3 x 22cm.)
