Circa 1735, the movement, the pierced brass side panels and the veneer to the backboard replaced in the 19th Century
The circular enamel and ormolu dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring and centersweeping minute and hour hand, within a convex glazed bezel, the dial decorated with shell and mask motifs, enclosed by a door decorated with a leaf surround above a seated woman mount atop rocailles and shells, all within a rocaille and cartouche border, decorated to the floor and the back door with scrolling foliate arabesques, the sides with pierced decoration, topped by the figure of a man with raised arm, on scrolled rocaille feet, on a similarly decorated waisted bracket set with female mounts to the corners, the backboard with later rosewood ground and inlay possibly later, the back of the hood later
