AN EARLY VICTORIAN MAHOGANY AND MARQUETRY LADY'S WRITING DESK
in the Louis XV style, crossbanded in tulipwood, the top decorated with ribbon-tied floral sprays and a basket of flowers with scattered fruit and centred by a hinged racheted slope flanked by an enclosed compartment to either side, the frieze fitted with a tooled panelled slide with a drawer below and fitted to the reverse with a drawer concealing a roller screen supported and locked open on a steel extending X-frame support, on cabriole legs headed with scroll and foliate ornament trailing to sabots (two missing) -- 35½in. (90cm.) wide, 16¾in. (42.5cm.) deep, 29in. (74cm.) high
