AN EGYPTIAN ALABASTER MEASURING JAR
OLD KINGDOM, CIRCA 2700-2300 B.C.
The tall cylindrical jar with flat rim, 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm.) high; an alabaster vessel with squat ovoid body and rounded rim, Predynastic, circa 3200-3000 B.C., 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high; and an alabaster conical jar, with flaring rim and base, 4 in. (10 cm.) high (3)
Provenance
Wilhelm Horn (1870-1959); acquired in Paris, 1937 (item one); from Dr Hartmann, Cairo, 1932 (item two); and from Lange, 1931 (item three).
