Lot Essay

The high quality of this bright blue faience shabti suggests that it belonged to Tayuheret, wife of the High Priest of Amun Masaharta, son of Pinedjem I. For a discussion on Tayuheret, cf. J.-F. and L. Aubert, Statuettes Egyptiennes, Paris, 1974, p. 143.
