AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE BUST OF THE GOD AMUN
CIRCA 7TH CENTURY B.C.
With eyes recessed for inlay (now missing), and plaited beard, 3½ in. (9 cm.) high; a bronze figure of a kneeling king, wearing nemes-headdress, arms missing, Third Intermediate Period, circa 9th-8th Century B.C., 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high; a bronze figure of standing Amen-re, circa 6th Century B.C., 6¾ in. (17.2 cm.) high; and a bronze furniture attachment in the form of a recumbent lion, circa 4th-1st Century B.C., 6 in. (15.3 cm.) long (4)
Provenance
Acquired by the present owner's father in the 1950s (d. 1969), and thence by descent to the present owner (see lots 9-12 and 44).
