LATE PERIOD, 26TH-30TH DYNASTY, CIRCA 664-332 B.C.
Of elongated trapezoidal form surmounted by a seated cat, the face finely modelled, with incised ears, eyes and whiskers, the forepaws together, the tail wrapped around the proper right side of the body, the box inscribed with single line of hieroglyphs reading: 'Bastet gives life to An-Bastet'
8 in. (20.3 cm.) high; 15 ½ in. (39.2 cm.) long

with N. Koutoulakis, Geneva.
Private collection, Europe, acquired from the above in the 1970s; and thence by descent to the present owner.
