AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF AMEN-RE
LATE PERIOD, DYNASTY XXVI-XXX, CIRCA 664-332 B.C.
The god standing with left leg advanced, right clenched hand held to his side and the left held out before him, wearing a pleated kilt with narrow belt, braided beard and the double plumed headdress with sun disc of Amen-re, mounted
7 in. (17.9 cm.) high.
Provenance
Formerly in the collection of Dr. J. J. Acworth (1853-1927), who visited Egypt in the late 19th Century, and thence by descent to the present owner (see lots 14-19).
