the rectangular case with circular white enamel chapter ring enclosing an engine-milled centre below two foliate scroll spandrels and above a an arched pendulum aperture with mirrored backplate, the case flanked by Egyptian head pilasters applied with thyrsus mounts above a conforming plinth with female headed supports to the front, the top surmounted by a pierced relief cresting portraying Cupid riding in a chariot drawn by two steeds on a nimbus, the twin train movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike (bell lacking) -- 80in. (203cm.) high
