The massive case with 'wing' panels to the rear sides, with foliate mouldings and musical trophy inlays, the hood cresting with dolphin inlays and above tapering columns inlaid with flowers, with sound frets to the sides, with conforming musical trophy inlays to the trunk door and side panels, the plinth with green-stained, marquetry and mother-of-pearl inlaid panel showing the sun rising on a farm, the base boldly carved with gadrooning and raised on four large paw feet, the 13½in. brass dial with cherub mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, signed Rob.t Hunt London, with levers at the quarter positions for Chime on 8 bells/Chime on 4 bells and Chime/Silent, the engine-turned centre with subsidiary seconds ring and the arched with painted rolling moon, blued steel hands, the eight day three-train movement with dead beat escapement quarter chiming on eight nested bells and with hour strike on further bell -- 109¾in. (279cm.) high
