Decorated with the arms of Chapman, comprising:
A teapot and cover, 7 3/8 in. (18.7 cm.) wide
A tea caddy and cover, 5 ¼ in. (13.3 cm.) high
A pair of coffee cups, 5 ¾ in. (14.5 cm.) high
Five tea bowls, 3 in. (7.6 cm.) diameter
Two saucers, 4 ½ in. (11.4 cm.) diameter
7 ¼ in. (18.4 cm.) wide, the teapot

Lot Essay

Probably made for John Chapman, son of Sir William, created a baronet in 1720 and a director of the South Sea Company. See D. Howard, op. cit., vol I, p 101.
