An English pottery transfer-printed commemorative railway jug
printed in puce with the Rainhill locomotive trials, depicting a locomotive pulling carriages and the Moorish arch at the opening of the Liverpool to Manchester railway, titled ENTRANCE TO THE LIVERPOOL & MANCHESTER RAILWAY (rim chip and some stains) -- 14.5cm. high; and another similar printed in manganese (extensively stained) -- 14cm. high, circa 1830
