AN ENGLISH SILVER-HILTED OFFICER'S SPADROON
Late 18th Century
With straight hollow-ground single-edged blade double-edged towards the tip (pitted), stirrup hilt with integral side-ring, fluted ivory grip with central band engraved 'H.M Hoare St. James's Loyal Volunteer Regt:', and plain pommel (replaced), in tooled leather scabbard with silver locket and chape, the former with frog-button and silversmith's mark of Francis Thurkle II
