Of square section, each side applied with a laurel wreath, on a stepped base, the platform stamped J. M. BLASHFIELD MILWWALL & PADDINGTON LONDON
The platform 11.1/3 in. (29.5 cm.) square; 17 in. (43.5 cm.) high overall

Lot Essay

This pedestal is similar to one published in his 1857 catalogue, No. 356. The stamp suggests this was made prior to 1859 after which time the business had re-located to Stamford, Lincolnshire.
