This exceptional gun was ordered on March 11th. 1901 by the Reverend Aldrich-Blake of Llanwenarth Rectory, Abergavenny. The record books at Boss record the following details of its specification:- 'Ordered a 12 bore top snap h'less ejector gun, patent selective single trigger, steel barrels 30 in., 5/16 special rib to be similar to Purdey 15734, also across the top and side view of fence, short thumb piece like Purdey, also lever to be engraved do., locks to be jointed to ball of action, gold arrow on tumblers like Purdey, fences chased to pattern selected, trigger to be fluted, press down fore part, right special cylinder, left full choke, to finish 6½lbs, pheasants, partridges and grouse to be engraved to order... partridges on one plate, pheasants on the other, woodcock on guard, grouse on 'the twelfth' on action With its case, the gun cost £68.5.0
