An Imari model of a caprisoned elephant
bearing a segmented two-tiered pagoda on its back, wearing elaborate saddle cloth and trappings decorated with floral pendants, scattered flower sprays and geometric designs, the pagoda side panels moulded with dragons among clouds and reticulated geometric designs beneath sloping tiled rooves, the elephant with its head and trunk raised and mouth slightly open -- 16in. (40.6cms) high, 19th century.
