AN IMPORTANT SUITE OF EMERALD AND DIAMOND JEWELRY, BY VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
Comprising a pendant brooch, set with a detachable pear-shaped emerald weighing approximately 27.68 carats, within a pear and circular-cut diamond frame, suspended by a similarly-set detachable rectangular-cut emerald from another similarly-set rectangular-cut emerald weighing approximately 11.29 carats; the ear pendants set with detachable pear-shaped emeralds weighing approximately 15.03 and 14.27 carats, within a circular-cut diamond frame, suspended by a detachable marquise and circular-cut diamond trefoil motif from a similarly-set surmount; and a ring set with a rectangular-cut emerald weighing approximately 26.53 carats, enhanced by a circular-cut diamond frame and pavé-set diamond shoulders, mounted in 18K gold and platinum, in its original black suede fitted case

With certificate CS 34138 dated 16 August 2000 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that the emerald weighing approximately 11.29 carats, based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the Laboratory that the origin of this material would be classified as Colombia. It is the opinion of the Laboratory that this material exhibits evidence of faint clarity enhancement (Oil Type Treatment Canadian Balsam). Canadian Balsam was one of the classic enhancement agents traditionally used during the early 1900's and in its current form is very stable.

With certificate CS 34136 dated 16 August 2000 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that the emerald weighing approximately 14.27 carats, based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the Laboratory that the origin of this material would be classified as Colombia. It is the opinion of the Laboratory that this material exhibits evidence of moderate to strong clarity enhancement (Oil Type Treatment Canadian Balsam). Candadian Balsam was one of the classic enhancement agents traditionally used during the early 1900's and in its current form is very stable.
The total weight of the diamonds is approximately 40.50 carats
