Lot Essay

This manuscript is a fragment and lacks a title and any information on where and when it was written. It is clearly a provincial work, written in a rather unformed hand. Some of the decoration and the colour palette with the strong ochre-red suggests an Indian provnance and the drawings of the tombs which resemble stupas, suggest Afghanistan or Central Asia. It has a strong shi'a feel with repeated invocation of the names of Hasan and Husayn.
