An inlaid iron box
Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Dai Nihon Kyoto Komai sei and sealed Raku
The rectangular two-tiered box with ringed hinged clasp and set into a rectangular base with four short bracket feet, inlaid in gilt nunomezogan and hirazogan with scenery of famous places in Kyoto, all with labels, including the Golden Pavillion and Arashiyama, the domed lid with scattered fans on a brocade ground, inlaid signature roundel on underside of the lower tier of the box
