An Italian bronze mortar
Probably from the Alberghetti foundry, first half 16th century
The waisted body with a stiff leaves beneath the rim, the central band with fruiting swags above four twin-handled urns interspersed with two lions and two deer
7¼in. (18.4cm.) diameter, 5 15/16in. (15.1cm.) high
