Rectangular, of dark green leather with folding sides, the hinged central compartment with needlepoint panel depicting a capriccio landscape with buildings and a seated figure with giltmetal stiff-leaf border with knop handle, the interior with a pocket containing the key, the borders applied with red and lighter green leather onlays tooled in gilt with roundels and foliate motifs, the front with giltmetal scroll escutcheon, within plain gilt rolled borders
