AN ITALIAN MILITARY SPEAR
The head, early 16th Century
With long triangular blade tapering from a broad base, formed with a medial ridge over the lower half, struck with a mark and extending to a faceted socket: on an octagonal haft profusely studded with patterns of brass nails, and fitted with iron shoe (the head pitted).
