An Italian Violin attributed to Carlo Tononi
Labelled: Joseph Guarnerius filius Andreae fecit Cremone sub titulo S. Teresiae 1702
Length of back: 13 7/8 ins, 353mm
Sold with the certificate of E Hjorth & sons, Copenhagen.
The instrument is also accompanied by a dendrochronological analysis by John Topham, Redhill dated 13th May 2004, dating the youngest tree ring at 1676, and showing significant cross-matches to Carlo Bergonzi, J.B. Guadagnini, and Giuseppe Guarneri, filius Andreae.
