AN ORMOLU-MOUNTED SÈVRES STYLE IRIDESCENT PALE-BLUE GROUND VASE AND COVER
Late 19th/early 20th century, spurious black interlaced L's mark, signed A. Collot
In the Art Nouveau taste, of inverted pear form, the shallow domed cover with cone finial, painted with a fair-haired maiden reclining in a bower of flowers attended by two putti, within a surround of colourful gilt scrolls and stylized flower forms, flanked by foliate scroll pilaster handles, each surmounted by a putto holding a cymbal, the terminal suspending a musical trophy, the reverse with a view of a woodland stream, on a conforming socle, berried laurel wreath and shaped circular base
