AN UNDERGLAZE COPPER-RED-DECORATED BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE

The cylindrical bottle is decorated under the glaze in copper red of crushed-strawberry tone and cobalt blue with a farmer seated astride a water buffalo in a rocky landscape as he holds a stick on which a bird is perched. The characters wan yu ('jade to be treasured') are written in underglaze blue on the base.
