AN UNUSUAL LARGE BLUE AND WHITE SLENDER BALUSTER VASE
17TH CENTURY
The slender body is decorated on each side with a dragon, one descending, the other ascending, the two contesting a large flaming pearl on one of the narrow sides. Each side of the waisted neck is decorated with a peony sprig between the pair of elephant-head loop handles and below the characters 'ri' (sun) and 'yue' (moon) enclosed within a cloud-form cartouche.
