An unusual late 19th Century model of an ore crushing plant with horizontally mounted spoked water [?] wheel and gear drive to three pairs of arms which lift three hammers, which fall by their own weight, the overhead frame supported on four metal doric columns. Unpainted and mounted on a simulated black and white tiled floor and mahogany plinth with brass plate engraved 'Presented by E. Jekyll Esq. Late Gren.r Guards' (one ball foot missing) -- 9 1/8x13¾in.
