An unusual mid 19th-Century display model of a single cylinder overcrank pumping engine,
constructed of brass and ferrous metal and comprising four turned tapered columns supporting an open frame on which are mounted the crankshaft trunnions, the crankshaft with eccentric drive to water pump, shaped crank and spoked flywheel, the cylinder with bar-type guides, crosshead and barrelled connecting rod, unpainted and mounted on a stepped wood plinth (some old damage, governor missing) -- 21.5 x 10.8cm. (8½ x 4¼in.)
