AN UNUSUAL WHITE-GLAZED MOLDED OVAL BRUSHWASHER
18th/19th century
Finely modelled in high relief around the sides and across the base with swirling froth-capped waves issuing from the mouth of a large carp which partially forms one side, its curved tail swished atop the interior below the head of a bat with outstretched wings peering over the rim on the other side, all under a milk-white glaze
