Andre-Aleth Masson was born in 1921. His work of the 1950s often incorporated extremely smooth glazes and curving forms influenced by biomorphism.
He often collaborated with André Borderie and together they produced many great works that were virtually indistinguishable from their individual works of the same time period. One of their important projects together was the lobby of the EDF building in La Defense Quarter that featured a 30 x 30 foot ceramic and metal mural executed in unprecedented scale. Masson also often collaborated with the renowned Hungarian sculptor and architect, Pierre Szekely.
