Saint Agatha

We are grateful to Professor Riccardo Lattuada for confirming the attribution on the basis of photographs. Professor Lattuada compares the painting with other versions of the same subject, notably those in the Museo Nacional del Prado and in the Museo civico Gaetano Filangieri, Naples. He proposes a date of c. 1645, at a time when Vaccaro's style was close to that of Massimo Stanzione.
