Including the Dala'il al-Khayrat of al-Jazuli, the Hisan al-Hasin and other prayers, Arabic manuscript on paper, 282ff. with 15ll. and 11ll. of black naskh, with two miniatures of the Haram al-Sharif in Mecca and the Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina in gouache heightened with gold, some prayers with red Persian interlinear translation, copious library inscriptions in nasta'liq and with various seal impressions with the name Fath 'Ali and dated AH 1230 (1814-15 AD), one text with an illuminated heading, red morocco binding with gold tooled floral panels- Folio 6 3/8 x 4in. (16.2 x 10.4cm.)

Lot Essay

The presence of some Shi'a prayers and inscriptions suggests that this manuscript was produced in a Persian speaking Shi'a centre of India, such as Lucknow.
