Lot Essay

Wedding anniversaries are very important to us, and since our 11th I've tried to do a special picture every year. When Mary and I met as students, it was the hot passion of youth: the boy chasing the girl running very slowly on the spot. But with maturity our love has bloomed and intensified (Exhibition catalogue, Anthony Green 1960- 1986, City Art Museum, Nigata, 1987, p.119).
