Lot Essay

The scale and finish of the present watercolour clearly indicates that is was intended as an exhibition piece. The date on the present watercolour may record the exhibition date, in 1821 Copley Fielding exhibited two view of London and Greenwich, no. 83 entitled A Scene in Greenwich Park and no. 109, London from Greenwich, which may be the present watercolour.
