Lot Essay

Two drawings of tulips by the same hand and of the same dimensions were sold at Christie's Amsterdam, 12 November 1990, lots 160-161. Those two sheets were associated with a group with Noortman in 1987, attributed to Claesz. by Dr. Sam Segal. Dr. Segal compared them to a drawing signed 'A.C.' and dated 1641 in an album in the Lindley Library, London, S. Segal, Tulips by Anthony Claesz., Maastricht, 1987.
