Mulready./1893' (lower right) and further signed, inscribed and dated 'This picture should not be Varnished if/varnished at all for at least 12 month from/present date- Glass may be placed over/the flat of the frame before the picture if desired-/No oil painting should be turned with its face from/the light in the dark as it tones the colour lowering/the lights- March 1893. Title given by myself/ "I've for my Stock asked but a Penny/
