Mart. ab Ebermayer, Nuremberg: privately printed, 1720. 2° (390 x 247mm.), title in red and black, folding engraved frontispiece, engraved arms of the dedicatee, 8 engraved plates, 22 half-page engraved illustrations (each on a single leaf with letterpress text beneath but no text on verso), bound by Johann Erasmus Kallenbach in contemporary vellum gilt, upper cover with centrally-blocked arms of the City of Leipzig, with 'Ad Bibliothecam Senatus Lipsiensis' tooled above and '1720' below, early ink manuscript title on spine. Provenance: City Library of Leipzig (binding, duplicate stamp); H.(?)Chulmet (signature); early duplicate library stamp on title. A fine copy of this interesting early catalogue of the gemmological collection of Johann Martin von Ebermayr. The interesting binding can be assigned to Kallenbach thanks to Johann Hoffmann's researches which were published in 'Der Bibliothekseinband der Leipziger Stadtbibliothek vom Ende des XVII. bis zum Anfang des XIX. Jahrhunderts', Jahrbuch für Einbandkunst, II, 1928. Cicognara 2741.
