Lot Essay

We are grateful to Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, for confirming the attribution on inspection of the original. He commented that it dates to the 1670s/80s and is directly influenced by Willem Kalf (1619-1693). This painting is sold along with a certificate from Dr. Walther Bernt.
