One page of letterpress text with ornamental initial, engraved frontispiece, engraved title with vignette within ornamental border, engraved calligraphic dedication by Bibiena and portrait frontispiece of the dedicatee by Andreas and Josef Schmuzer after Martin de Meytens, 51 engraved plates, numbered 1-10 in each part, plus one, by A. and J. Schmuzer, J.A. Pfeffel, L. Zucchi and S. Kleiner after Bibiena. Contemporary German half calf, gilt spine (some light wear to spine ends and edges). Provenance: Alexandre Giessel, Franciscan Minorite (early inscription on front pastedown); acquired from Chiswick Book Shop, 1966.

FIRST EDITION. The plates "show brilliant baroque compositions" (Fowler) of catafalques, theatrical sets, a Passion series in architectural settings and decorations for the Riding School at Vienna for the marriage of Archduchess Mariana to Prince Charles of Lorraine.
