FIRST EDITION OF THE GREEK NEW TESTAMENT BY THEODORE BEZE, one of the most learned scholars of the Reformation. His edition, dedicated to Queen Elizabeth of England, exercised considerable influence on subsequent English editions of the Bible, culminating in the Authorised Version (1611). This copy bears the names of the brothers Johann Casimir, Herzog von Sachsen-Gotha-Coburg (1564-1633) and Johann Ernst III Herzog of Sachsen-Eisenach (1566-1638) and others, dated at Coburg, 1581.
