2 volumes, 2° (510 x 333mm). Text in Latin. One (of 2) engraved armorial titles with letterpress labels, 220 (of 232) engraved maps, views and plans, ALL SUPERLY COLOURED BY A CONTEMPORARY HAND, one of these folding, and the majority double-page, title pasted onto pl. 101 as in several other copies, index leaf to vol. I without corrective overslip, privilege leaves of the States-General of the United Netherlands undated in both vols, index leaf in vol. II bound before title. (Vol. I towns of the United Provinces: lacking engraved title, second leaf of dedication ‘Augustissimi Patres’, and 7 plates, marginal chip to pl. 29, 60mm holes cutting out foreground figures on pl.45, pls 54 and 68 with very large tears crudely repaired but with only minor marginal loss, pl.86 mostly ripped away with only top left-hand corner remaining, heavy staining from pl.132 to end; vol. II towns of the Royal Netherlands: engraved title worn with marginal chips, the whole remargined to verso and 160mm tear repaired, dedication to Gaspar de Bracamonte y Guzman replaced with ‘Extract uyt de Privilegie’, lacking 3 letterpress part-titles and 5 plates, pl. 5 and letterpress leaf ‘Hondeschota’ with very large tears crudely repaired by tape, several plates with short marginal tears, pl. 20 supplied from a shorter copy and brown and frayed into image, pl. 46 supplied from a shorter copy, pl. 74 defective with very large chip and frayed, folding pl. 90 frayed at edges.) Contemporary limp vellum panelled in gilt with central lozenge, edges gilt and gauffered (worn, recased with new endpapers, vol. II rebacked preserving portions of original spine).
