Lot Essay

Ajourée Amvara is a jewelry watch. Round diamonds are set along the top of the snake's body, made of polished yellow gold. This creation uses 166 diamonds and is incredibly complex, due to the snake's particular curved form. The snake coils around the case several times, to remind the infinite symbol. Symbolizing both happiness and grace, the snake quickly became an esthetical ideal for the Maison Boucheron.

Frederic Boucheron once offered a snake necklace to his beloved wife, as the promise of a happy life together. Starting from that moment, the snake became a symbol of protection in Boucheron creations. The snake has ever since never left the Maison and is now like a talisman, effortlessly adapting itself through all artistic trends, changes and technical innovations, up to nowadays.
