Engraved frontispiece in volume I, double-page engraved title in volume II, 112 engraved plates and tables, most double-page or folding. Contemporary blue morocco, gilt-tooled spine, red morocco lettering-pieces. Provenance: 2nd Marquess of Bute (Luton Library bookplate).

A HANDSOME SET OF THESE TWO WORKS. Although attributed to Briseux, the Architecture Moderne is probably a compilation by Jombert. The second volume consists of elevations and internal plans ('distributions') of a wide variety of houses, including buildings of mixed residential and commercial use.
