Lot Essay

A censer of a very similar shape and design to the present lot is in the collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum- 43 - Metal-bodied Enamel Ware, Hong Kong, 2002, p. 16, pl. 14. Also compare this to a censer illustrated by Brinker and Lutz, Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, Asia Society Galleries, New York, 1989, no. 54.
